Two Torti Gallas DC Projects are Underway!

Two new Torti Gallas projects developed by Foulger-Pratt have broken ground!!

We recently had the great pleasure of attending the ground breaking for two of our Washington, DC projects!

Press House, developed by Foulger-Pratt and designed by Torti Gallas in collaboration with AA Studios, will offer 365 new apartments in a mix of Studio, 1- and 2-bedroom units, thirty-one of which will be set aside as affordable. Located on N Street, NE in Washington, DC, Press House complements this eclectic and fast-evolving neighborhood while preserving a link to the past: a landmarked warehouse designed for National Capital Press by Chas. H. Tompkins Co. in 1931. This historic building will be redeveloped with ground floor retail and two floors of office space.

One 501, also developed by Foulger-Pratt, will provide 327 apartments, 9,000 sf of retail and restaurants, 174 secured bicycle parking spaces and several dozen inclusionary zoning units. Located adjacent to the future Eckington Park being developed by the NOMA Parks Foundation, the building includes a landscaped courtyard with a pool, seating areas, a green roof and a rooftop deck. The street level retail enlivens the pedestrian experience and offers residents shopping and dining at their doorstep. The project is designed to achieve USGBC LEED Gold level certification.
