Torti Gallas and Partners assisted Tata Housing Development Company (THDC) to craft a “Best in Class” vision for the new Devanhalli Luxury Housing Community at Bangalore. THDC is a part of the TATA conglomerate and one of the most prominent residential developers in the Indian market. Working with an international team of subconsultants, Torti Gallas envisioned an iconic community set within a mature landscape, where residents enjoy world class amenities, a healthy and highly sustainable living environment, and an inextricably woven theme that integrates Urban Design, Architecture and Landscape Design, each executed to the finest International Standards.
The site’s strategic location takes advantage of the burgeoning growth corridor of North Bangalore with proposed IT Parks, large infrastructure projects and proximity to the newly opened BIAL airport. This luxurious community is “made to order” for the Devanhalli / North Bangalore Micro Market with an innovative mix of 3BHK, 4BHK and 5BHK unit types ranging from Villas to stacked townhomes that can serve both as permanent homes as well as a “Staycation” destination. The Clubhouse contains a state-of-the-art Wellness Spa, Salon, Squash Court, Gymnasium, indoor game rooms, Banquet Hall, Restaurant, Café and convenience store.
Sustainability is integrated into the community at every scale, and the project will be IGBC certified. The orientation of the street framework takes advantage of the prevailing wind direction during the summer months to channel cooling breezes through streets and backyards. Mature trees are saved in place, and the network of open spaces creates a system of natural drainage and sustainable stormwater management strategies using the site’s terrain.
The “Themed Architecture” at the Enchanted Grove is an interpretation of “High Style Americana”, drawing from the best examples of Georgian and Neo-Classical buildings from cities across the world. The homes are designed to offer gracious spaces for affluent homeowners with distinctly Indian characteristics that respond to the local culture and traditions, including adherence to “Vastu” Principles.
